The
bathroom is one of the most private rooms in the house. It's the part
of the house that you should feel comfortable in and have access to
everything that we need. Here's the top ten accessories and furniture
that every bathroom have.
All
bathrooms have some type of toilet. It's actually ideal to have a low-fushing toilet so that you can save money and water.
A
sink is necessary in order to clean up or get a quick drink of water.
You need it to brush your teeth and wash your hands in the morning.
It is also ideal for guests to have a place to wash their hands when
they come to visit too.
Every
common bathroom has some type of bath-tub or shower. Unless it is a
half bathroom. Some houses have a full bathroom where a shower or
bathtub is present, while half bathrooms have just a sink and toilet.
One of the bathrooms in a house should always have a tub or shower.
Many of us may consider a bathtub or shower our sanctuary. It isn't
just a place to get clean, but a place to relax in too. Many people
enjoy long warm bubble baths, so to some, having a bathtub is a must!
Medicine cabinet and closet spacePrescriptions,
toothpaste, soap, make-up and other hygienic accessories need
somewhere to be stored. Prescriptions, toothpaste and other items
shouldn't be cluttering the top of the sink. If there are small
children around, it is definitely a safety hazard to have
prescriptions left out. All vitamins, medicine and cabinet should be
shut into a medicine cabinet. Closet space is also a useful place to
store linens, towels, and other needs. Sometimes, bathrooms aren't
always the biggest rooms in the house, so ample storage space is
always a must.
A mirrorMirrors are helpful to have for brushing your teeth,
getting ready in the mornings and other reasons we may be too
embarrassed to mention. Of course, as children, we were always
looking at ourselves in the mirror to make faces or to pull and pick
at something we saw. As we grow older, we still do it as
adults-except it's done in private...in the bathroom. Having one
large mirror in the bathroom is efficient enough, while some may
prefer having a few different sized ones.
Proper lightingLighting is very important in the bathroom. We must
see in order to take showers, wash our hands and to get ready. Those
who like to wear make-up, need efficient lighting so that too much
isn't applied-or not enough. You can place a light on the ceiling and
place extra lighting above or below a mirror too.
Reading materialSome may find this accessory amusing, but having
extra reading material can actually be quite handy. Place a few
magazines or interesting books that you or others might like to read.
Look for a nice magazine holder where these can be placed. Be sure to
change them out from time to time, so materials don't gather too much
dust.
Toilet paper holder and extra tissueEvery bathroom needs a place to
store toilet paper. It should be in an obvious place for guests too.
There is nothing more embarrassing than having a guest ask where your
toilet paper is. Always make sure toilet paper is available on the
roll, and have a few extra sitting out. You can place rolls of toilet
paper on a shelf, or behind the toilet. Kleenex should always be
present for those who have allergies or just simply need to blow
their nose.
Soap and a hand-towel or paper-towelsSoap should always be present
in a bathroom. Hand sanitizer is a plus, but not necessarily a
necessity. A hand towel should also be available to dry hands on, or
a roll of paper towels. This way, hands can always be washed after
using the bathroom, blowing your nose or anything else that you need
to clean up from. Buy a pretty soap dish to place soap in, or a soap
dispenser that liquid soap can be poured into.
